- Authentic Handcrafted Cast Iron - No Chemical Coating: accurately reproduces the traditional "Tortoise Shell" texture using a 1650°C molding process. Unlike modern machine-made pans, this small wok is naturally uncoated and strictly uses natural Pine Smoke (soot) as a mold release agent—absolutely no PTFE, PFOA, or chemical synthetics.
- Unique "Breathing" Texture - Not a Defect: You may notice distinctive crack-like patterns (Tortoise Shell) and tiny pores on the surface. These are NOT cracks or defects but the signature of handcrafted casting. These natural pores absorb oil during seasoning, creating a natural non-stick patina over time that improves with every use.
- Natural Pine Soot Finish - No Synthetic Chemicals:The dark matte finish is derived from Natural Pine Soot, a traditional plant-based mold release agent used in authentic iron casting. It is NOT a chemical paint or Teflon coating. You may see some black residue during the initial wash; this is normal carbonization from the high-temperature kiln process. Simply scrub it away and season the wok to reveal the pure iron surface ready for cooking.
- Versatile Flat Bottom & Compact Design: Designed for modern kitchens, the stable flat base sits perfectly on Gas, Electric, Induction, and Ceramic stoves. With a 9.5-inch diameter and 2.5-quart capacity, it’s the ideal size for 1-2 person meals, frying eggs, or small stir-frys without the heaviness of a large wok.
- Maintenance is Key - Seasoning Required: As pure cast iron, this wok requires maintenance to prevent rust. It ships with a protective vegetable oil layer—wash this off with warm soapy water, dry completely on the stove, and apply a thin layer of oil (Seasoning) immediately. Not Dishwasher Safe. Treat it well, and it will last a lifetime.
